After giving it a lot of thought and talking with friends and family, and most importantly my Husband I have decided that I want to give life to a couple who can't have that special little thing in life, A Child.
A placed an Ad at SMO (Surrogate Mothers Online) I received a few responses and some who had looked at my website, I started talking with a few couples to narrow down the one "perfect" match.
I thought I had found them. But Things didn't work out for us. So I started my search over. I was talking to one of my Surrogate buddies when all of the sudden she said, I have a couple for you! I freaked! I was soo excited, I couldn't sit still. I checked my e-mail probably 20 times a day waiting for an e-mail back from her, or them.
Finally a response came. "S" was her name, and she has a loving husband (we'll call him "P" to respect their privacy) we set an apt up to meet that VERY Friday!!! It was Tuesday! OMG I had to clean! I cleaned up all week. The day finally came where we got to meet them. I knew they were perfect when we met them! She gave me a big old Hug and gave me a gift for our son. We sat and talked for what seems like hours, then went to lunch.
While we were at lunch, S looked at me and said, "Well I guess we'd better get the Psychiatrist test done huh?" I looked at her in disbelief; I couldn't believe that she was actually asking me to be her Surrogate. I said, "So ya'll really like me?" She laughed and said, "Of course, why wouldn't we?"
That was one the best days of my life. The weeks turned into months and as the months passed we started getting everything set up. Finally, all our medical testing was done. We started getting to work with the contracts! That was some fun, I didn't like my lawyer at all; he wasn't very responsible and didn't seem to know what he was talking about. Finally we just went ahead and signed the contracts with out him. I was fine with everything and trusted my Ip's 110% Heck more than that!
Finally we got a date for our Transfer, and to start meds! How exciting, we were thrilled. They had 12 frozen embryos and we were planning on transferring no more than 3. I did great on all the meds, and my body responded well too. (I didn't get any of the yucky side affects some ppl do on the Meds)
Thanksgiving Day rolled around and we left the house here in North Carolina early.4 Am to be exact... Bryce & I slept most of the way there, but we finally got to Charlotte and were ready to go in for the transfer. Only two little embryos had made the thaw and growing out process to day 5. So we decided to transfer those two and pray that it worked. |
